Accountant (Oil & Gas / Contract)

We are looking for a meticulous and hands-on Finance & Accounting Executive to oversee general ledger, reporting, tax compliance, and intercompany processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting across regional entities, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders to support business operations and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of general administrative expenses and ensure timely posting to the general ledger.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including accruals, reconciliations, and full-set accounts support.
• Monitor cost allocations across business segments and trading books to ensure fair and accurate distribution.
• Prepare overhead expenditure reports, including variance analysis against budgets and historical trends, and present key insights to management.
• Manage intercompany recharges, including invoicing, debit/credit notes, and timely settlements.
• Reconcile intercompany balances with regional affiliates to ensure accuracy and alignment across entities.
• Prepare tax computations and filings, liaise with tax agents, and respond to tax queries.
• Ensure proper recording and compliance for GST, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns to IRAS and support compliance with Global Trader Programme (GTP) guidelines.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations (IFRS/FRS, SOX, and local tax requirements).
• Support the annual budgeting process for overhead expenses and monitor spending against forecasts.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Prepare regulatory and statistical surveys for government authorities within required timelines.
• Collaborate with internal departments, overseas offices, and external advisors to ensure smooth daily operations and reporting.
• Drive process improvements and support system enhancements, alongside ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Ideally 5 years of experience in accounting, general ledger, or finance operations (audit background is a plus).
• Either a Chartered Accountant or CPA Certified.
• Strong knowledge of full-set accounts, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with GST, withholding tax, and Singapore tax compliance requirements.
• Understanding of IFRS and internal controls (SOX exposure advantageous).
• Proficient in Excel and accounting / ERP systems.
