Dental Assistant HAAD License as DA

The job holder will be required to help the Dentist in providing general dental care to the patients of the center. Also, it is expected that the job holder should follow the policies of FDOC and regulations of DOH to ensure the safety and increase the level of satisfaction of patients experience at the center.

A. Administration

• Manage daily the schedule of the assigned dentist
• Coordinate with reception to confirm appointments and re-bookings of patient’s schedule.
• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Assist dentist in recording treatment information on Dokor32, as needed.
• Order dental supplies and maintain dental equipment inventory.
• Report any loss or damaged equipment in the dental room.
• Coordinate with cashier for any changes on the billing of the patient, if applicable
• Cross check with the insurance department for any procedures that may require approval from the insurance provider of the patient, when applicable.
• Double check the approval validity prior to any procedure
• Check the notes of cashier regarding eligibility of patient before starting any treatment
• · Perform any other ad hoc responsibilities that may be assigned

B. Patient Care

• Provide great patient care.
• Collect and record medical and dental histories.
• Work with patients and making them comfortable regarding the procedure.
• Prepare patients for their treatments.
• Keep the patient’s mouth free of excess saliva, blood, tooth fragments and other dental materials
• Assist dentist with procedures when necessary.

C. Dental Procedure

• Prepare the work area and complete various assigned lab tasks.
• Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
• Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Help with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)

Requirements

• Bachelor or associate degree in dentistry
• With certification in dental administration
• HAAD Dental Assistant License is a must

Experience

• At least 3 years of work experience in the same capacity
• Eligible to work in the UAE as per DOH requirements

Skills

• Fluency in English is a must
• Experience in using a patient record system
• Knowledge in Arabic or another language is a plus
• Knowledge in using Dok32
