The financial analyst role support group-wide investment reporting, portfolio analysis, investor engagement, and rating-agency activities. Through effective stakeholder engagement and analytical review, the role helps to improve yields and better investor management. This role offers exposure to senior stakeholders, Board-level materials, capital markets, and strategic finance initiatives across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor, analyse, and report on the Group’s investment portfolio across markets and entities.
- Coordinate with finance teams, asset managers, and internal stakeholders to collect, validate, and consolidate investment data.
- Ensure investment reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with IFRS, Group policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare investment performance reports, dashboards, presentations, and management information for senior leaders, Boards, and committees.
- Conduct investment, market, macroeconomic, and interest rate analysis to support portfolio strategy, asset allocation decisions
- Monitor portfolio performance against benchmarks, analyse performance attribution, and identify key investment risks, opportunities, and trends.
- Support asset allocation, market, macroeconomics, liquidity, ALM, and scenario analyses
- Investor Relations & Shareholder Communications
- Prepare investor presentations, shareholder materials, Q&A documents, and briefing packs.
- Support investor meetings, AGM/EGM activities, and shareholder engagement.
- Coordinate responses to investor, shareholder, stock exchange, and clearing house requests.
- Track market feedback, share price movements, and investor engagement actions.
- Maintain shareholder and investor databases, engagement records, and request tracking mechanisms to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Support the preparation of disclosures and other communications relating to investments and shareholder matters.
- Credit Rating Support
- Support credit rating reviews by preparing financial analysis, presentations, schedules, and responses.
- Coordinate rating-agency meetings, documentation, timelines, follow-ups, and action trackers.
- Maintain rating documentation, annual review timetables, action trackers, and records of agency interactions.
- Monitor rating methodologies, analyse peer rating developments, and support rating strategy discussions.
- Treasury, Strategic Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support treasury, capital management, and strategic finance initiatives across the Group.
- Contribute to transformation initiatives, and system & process enhancement related to investments and finance.
- Undertake ad hoc analyses, projects, and assignments
Knowledge / Capabilities / Competencies / Skills Required
Professional Qualifications
- Professional financial qualification (CFA, ACCA, ACA, CPA or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, Economics or related discipline.
Experience
Must Have
- 3-5 years of experience in investment management, treasury, corporate finance, financial analysis or investor relations
- Experience within the insurance, banking, asset management, or broader financial services sector.
- Strong exposure to investment reporting, portfolio performance analysis, financial modelling, and data reconciliation.
Preferred
- Exposure to fixed income, capital markets, treasury, ALM, investor relations, or regulated financial services is advantageous.
- Experience preparing Board papers, management reports, investor materials, or executive presentations is preferred.
- Experience supporting investor relations activities, including investor presentations, shareholder communications, AGM/EGM support.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of investment management, financial markets, portfolio performance, IFRS, governance, and regulatory reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI, Bloomberg, and reporting automation experience would be an advantage.
- Understanding of investor relations, treasury, liquidity management, ALM, and credit rating processes would be beneficial.
- Understanding of credit rating methodologies and the rating agency assessment process would be advantageous.
