Lead HVAC Technician

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to join our growing commercial service team.

We are a fourth-generation plumbing and HVAC company serving commercial clients throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester, and surrounding areas. This position is ideal for a highly skilled technician who can independently diagnose complex HVAC issues, lead jobs in the field, and help guide junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems
• Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, heat pumps, boilers, VRF/VRV systems, and related controls
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, and control-related problems
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify needed repairs
• Lead HVAC service calls, installations, and larger repair projects
• Direct and support junior technicians and helpers in the field
• Communicate job findings, repair recommendations, and material needs to the office
• Accurately complete service reports, job notes, photos, and equipment information
• Assist with estimating labor, materials, and equipment needed for repairs
• Maintain a clean, professional, and safe work environment
• Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and company personnel
• Participate in emergency and after-hours service when scheduled

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on HVAC service and troubleshooting experience
• Strong commercial HVAC background
• Ability to independently diagnose and repair HVAC equipment
• Strong understanding of electrical controls, wiring diagrams, motors, contactors, capacitors, transformers, and thermostats
• Experience working with refrigerant systems and performing leak detection
• EPA Universal Certification required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills
• Must be dependable, organized, and able to complete detailed service documentation

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday through Friday
• Overtime and emergency service may be available or required

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour
