Early Childhood Education Teacher-Pacific Primary

Are you a reflective, relationship-centered educator looking to join a progressive, nationally recognized early childhood program? Pacific Primary is seeking passionate teachers to join our collaborative team.

Pacific Primary is a nonprofit, full-day, year-round preschool serving children ages 2.5–6. Our program is grounded in emergent curriculum, anti-bias education, play-based learning, and strong partnerships with families. We believe children learn best in environments where they feel safe, valued, and inspired, and we are committed to creating an inclusive community where children, families, and educators thrive.

As a Classroom Teacher, you will collaborate with your teaching team and Anchor Teacher to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for a group of 16–22 children. We are looking for educators who are curious, reflective, collaborative, and committed to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Build warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• Create engaging, play-based learning experiences inspired by children's interests, observations, and emerging ideas.
• Observe, document, and assess children's learning through pedagogical documentation, Learning Stories, and daily communication with families.
• Support a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that promotes children's independence, curiosity, and sense of belonging.
• Collaborate with your teaching team to plan curriculum, reflect on children's development, and participate in weekly team meetings.
• Foster an inclusive classroom that celebrates diversity and supports anti-bias, culturally responsive teaching practices.
• Communicate professionally with families and collaborate with specialists and support staff to meet individual children's needs.
• Follow all health, safety, licensing, and supervision requirements while maintaining a clean and engaging learning environment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective supervision as part of our culture of continuous growth.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units (24 units preferred)
• California Teacher Permit (or eligibility to obtain one)
• At least two years of experience working with young children
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with emergent curriculum, pedagogical documentation, reflective practice, and Reggio Emilia-inspired education
• Knowledge of anti-bias education and culturally responsive teaching practices

Compensation & Benefits

Our teachers are our most important resource. We offer a competitive salary of $63,000–$73,000 per year, excellent benefits, and a supportive work environment that values collaboration and professional growth. Our generous benefits package includes:
