Project Land Surveyor

Project Land Surveyor leads land survey projects from planning through execution, ensuring accuracy and compliance across commercial, industrial, and municipal developments. They manage field teams, maintain client relationships, and drive project success through advanced surveying tools and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

Manage land survey projects across the entire cycle, from planning to completion.

Produce survey drawings and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Mentor, train, and supervise field staff to maintain high-quality results.

Prepare detailed project plans and schedules for field crews.

Implement field standards and quality control procedures.

Recommend and evaluate field equipment purchases and upgrades.

Verify field work for completeness and accuracy.

Provide on‑site support and supervision during field survey projects.

Recruit and evaluate new hires for the survey team.

Communicate regularly with leadership and project managers.

Schedule and coordinate field work activities.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in land development projects, including commercial, industrial, and municipal work.

Valid Professional Land Surveyor license in Illinois or ability to obtain within one year.

Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures and equipment.

Experience with Trimble surveying equipment and software.

Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Strong verbal communication and organizational skills to liaise with project managers and staff.

Excellent time‑management abilities.

Ability to oversee and manage a project team of field survey staff.

Competitive salary range of $90,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience.
