Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Currently looking to fill a part time position but may transition into a full time position with benefits if the fit is right.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
• Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on visits.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Assist with dental radiography as needed, ensuring proper techniques are used for quality images.
• Support the front desk with administrative tasks when required, including managing Dentrix software for patient management.
• Collaborate effectively with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical documentation practices and familiarity with medical coding is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable.
• Understanding of anatomy related to dentistry and pediatric dentistry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion towards patients.
• Commitment to ongoing education regarding infection control standards and best practices in dental care.
