Live-in Personal Attendant/Assistant

Live-In Personal Attendant/Assistant needed in Four Points Austin area for a male quadriplegic who lives and works in Austin.

Qualified Applicants

• Able to assist with personal care and daily living activities
• Perform and manage household, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
• CPR
• Valid driver's license
• Capable of driving wheelchair accessible vehicle at times.
• The assistant must be able to assist with transfers of the man and travel with him nationally and internationally
• Effective communication
• Focused

This is a clean environment

• Personal hygiene of body and clothes
• Smoking is prohibited
• Universal precautions must always be taken

Compensation

• Bi-weekly pay with annual merit bonuses.
• Bi-weekly pay can vary and is directly related to tasks performed, productivity, going over and beyond, time off, etc.
• Pay is entirely commensurate with productivity so efficiency is paramount.
• Private room/bath with utilities and amenities.

Schedule

Life seems to change all the time, but a typical day could require--depending on needs--assistance:

• A few early morning hours for personal care
• A couple late evening hours for personal care
• Available as needed overnight
• Several hours throughout the week for household, cooking, cleaning, laundry, errands, etc.
• The attendant is essentially the man's arms and legs and works primarily in his shadow, but also companions him often to events both professional and personal.
• He needs assistance everyday, but will accommodate schedules for time off.
• Applicants looking for Fill-In work are strongly encouraged to apply.

Experience

• Knowledge and experience with personal care of a disabled individual is Preferred
• CNA, CMA, or other certifications/licenses are a positive
• No experience is okay so long as you fit all other requirements

Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.

If you have or get your Massage Therapy license, then you can make an additional $16,300 a year.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $63,750.00 per year
