We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

This role involves supervising dental assisting staff, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols, and supporting the delivery of high-quality dental services across various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery dentistry.

The Lead RDA will also assist with administrative tasks and maintain accurate medical documentation within our state-of-the-art dental practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor dental assisting staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and high standards of patient care
• Perform chairside assisting during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric treatments
• Take and develop X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols
• Manage patient records using PMS systems such as Open Dental while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Assist with medical documentation, coding, and updating medical records accurately
• Prepare treatment rooms with proper aseptic techniques and infection control procedures
• Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as needed for patient assessments
• Support the dental receptionist in scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
• Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology and anatomy knowledge
• Maintain inventory of dental supplies and ensure equipment is sterilized according to infection control standards
• Promote a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership

Skills

• Extensive experience with PMS systems such as Open Dental or similar platforms
• Proficiency in chairside assisting across multiple specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy
• Skilled in X-ray techniques, medical imaging, 3D scanning, and vital signs monitoring
• Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
• Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with general dentistry patients is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Ability to lead by example while maintaining a professional demeanor in a clinical setting
