Position Summary
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to support the Construction Team on a large-scale industrial construction project in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, execution, and turnover of all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Protection, and Building Systems construction activities.
The MEP Construction Manager will work closely with project leadership, engineering, commissioning, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, schedule, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or mission-critical construction projects from installation through commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Fire Protection, HVAC, and Building Systems construction activities.
- Coordinate daily work between subcontractors, superintendents, engineers, commissioning teams, and project stakeholders.
- Develop and execute construction plans that maintain project schedules, manpower requirements, and installation sequencing.
- Monitor project progress, productivity, budgets, and schedule performance while identifying and resolving potential delays.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, BIM models, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for constructability and quality.
- Ensure installations comply with project specifications, NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IPC, OSHA, and applicable local building codes.
- Lead daily field walks, coordination meetings, progress updates, and quality inspections.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries, material logistics, and procurement activities to support field operations.
- Resolve field conflicts and collaborate with engineering teams on design changes and constructability solutions.
- Oversee startup activities, functional testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final system turnover.
- Manage punch list completion, closeout documentation, and owner acceptance.
- Track project costs, change orders, labor productivity, and schedule milestones.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience managing MEP construction on large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, automotive, or data center projects.

- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating cross-functional construction teams.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, specifications, and BIM/Revit models.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, critical path planning, and field coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software.
- OSHA 30 Certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience on Gigafactory, semiconductor, battery manufacturing, automotive manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical facility construction projects.
- Self-perform construction experience.
- Experience supporting commissioning and facility startup.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction principles and fast-track project delivery.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in active industrial construction environments.
- Ability to walk extensive job sites, climb stairs and ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
