Part-Time Barista

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and detail-oriented Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and customer service, with experience in food and beverage preparation, retail sales transactions, and food safety standards. This role involves preparing high-quality non-alcoholic beverages, serving customers efficiently, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in coffee service, POS systems, and retail operations within a dynamic café setting.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks using proper techniques.
• Operate POS systems (Square) for processing sales accurately.
• Handle retail sales transactions efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
• Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas.
• Manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy during register operations.
• Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional service.
• Restock supplies as needed and ensure the café is well-organized throughout the shift.
• Follow food preparation guidelines to ensure quality and consistency in beverage offerings.
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct open and closing punctually
• Create good vibes and maintain customer relations

Requirements

• Previous barista experience or food service experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for those eager to learn.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers.
• Basic math skills for processing cash transactions and retail math calculations.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during shifts.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light cleaning duties as needed.
• A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to learn new skills related to beverage service and retail operations.
