Duties

• Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
• Install new HVAC equipment following schematics, HVAC design plans, and building codes to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC systems to maximize performance and longevity.
• Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and field testing devices; repair electrical systems including wiring, controls, and building automation systems.
• Repair mechanical components such as motors, fans, compressors, pumps, and plumbing fixtures associated with HVAC/R systems.
• Utilize welding and equipment repair skills for component fabrication or replacement when necessary.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction during every service call.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and system conditions for each service visit.
• Follow safety protocols including EPA certification standards for refrigerant handling and proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment.

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction projects related to HVAC system installation and property maintenance.
• Proven service technician experience with a strong understanding of schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical systems repair.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration applications.
• Skilled in electrical diagnostics involving electrical systems within HVAC/R units.
• Proficiency with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as condensate drainage or gas line connections.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and multimeters.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing boiler operation, air conditioning units, building automation systems, and appliance repair.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools, welding techniques, and general equipment repair methods.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with driver standards preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
