The Role

QA Analyst API Automation Tester

Location: Hybrid Preferred (2 days/week onsite in Raleigh) Can be fully remote but must reside in the states and be available to work our core hours of 8am EST 5pm EST.

Hours: 37.5-hour work week

Type: 12 month contract

What You Ll Do

Our client is looking for an experienced API-focused QA Automation Tester to support a growing project portfolio. This individual will focus heavily on API integration testing, validating data movement between systems, identifying defects, and supporting cloud-based applications running within AWS environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience building and executing API test strategies, troubleshooting integration issues, and working with modern automation tools such as Playwright and Selenium.

Insurance experience is not required for this role, but always a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform API and integration testing across multiple applications and services
• Validate system-to-system data movement and business process workflows
• Design and execute manual and automated API test cases
• Create detailed test plans, scripts, and documentation
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
• Work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders
• Support testing efforts for cloud-based applications running in AWS
• Contribute to automation initiatives and QA best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA and software testing experience
• Strong API Integration Testing experience
• Experience validating data flow between multiple systems and applications
• Ability to design, execute, and document API test cases and test plans
• Strong defect identification, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience testing cloud-based applications in AWS environments
• Experience with:
• Playwright
• Selenium
• API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, REST-based testing tools, etc.)
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and test lifecycle best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with development and business teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workato integrations
• Prior experience testing enterprise integrations or middleware platforms
• Insurance or Financial Services experience
