Accounting Manager – Life Insurance

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process for various accounting areas.
• Prepare and review GAAP and Statutory accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Assist with statutory and GAAP financial reporting requirements.
• Partner with investment accounting, actuarial, treasury, FP&A, and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Help establish and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and operational processes as the organization continues to scale.
• Support external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Research accounting guidance and assist with technical accounting matters as needed.
• Mentor and develop members of the accounting team while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Participate in special projects, including process improvements, automation initiatives, and new product implementations.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience within the insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of Life & Annuity insurance accounting.
• Experience with both Statutory and GAAP reporting preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
