Experienced Line Cook - $18-$24/hr

Overview

Death & Taxes, the fine dining restaurant owned by James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen, is on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Line Cooks to join our vibrant culinary team. This role is perfect for someone who loves executing delicious dishes, thrives in a lively kitchen environment, and enjoys working closely with others to deliver memorable dining experiences.

As a key player in our kitchen, you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet our standards and delight our guests. If you have a flair for food preparation and a love for fine dining, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Assist in meal assembly, ensuring each dish is crafted with care and attention to detail.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices.
• Support food safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both staff and guests.
• Collaborate with team members during busy service times to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or issues.
• Participate in menu planning discussions and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials.

Skills

• Previous experience in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering is highly desirable, especially fine dining experience.
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques are essential.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience with meal preparation, cooking, and food service operations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
• A genuine enthusiasm for culinary arts, with an eagerness to learn new skills and techniques.
