About the Opportunity

Our client is a mid-sized, family-owned general contractor with a strong reputation across the Central Ohio commercial construction market. They are seeking a Safety Manager to support safety efforts across multiple active projects, partnering closely with field leadership, project teams, trade partners, and company leadership to maintain a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support safety efforts across multiple commercial construction projects
• Partner with field leadership and project teams to reinforce company safety standards
• Conduct jobsite safety walks, inspections, audits, and follow-up documentation
• Identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and help drive accountability in the field
• Lead or support safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and certification-related training
• Serve as a safety resource for superintendents, foremen, project teams, and trade partners
• Assist with incident response, investigation, documentation, and root-cause analysis
• Help maintain compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and project-specific safety requirements
• Build strong relationships with field teams while remaining confident, direct, and consistent in enforcing expectations
• Support continuous improvement of safety processes, training, and field execution

Preferred Background

• Construction safety experience with a general contractor, construction manager, subcontractor, or closely related construction environment
• Experience supporting safety across active commercial construction jobsites
• OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 strongly preferred
• Ability to lead safety training and serve as a knowledgeable resource for field teams
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards, jobsite safety practices, and construction risk management
• Experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, mixed-use, self-perform, or similar construction projects preferred
• Field background or prior hands-on construction experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coach, correct, and hold teams accountable
• Confident, professional on-site presence with the ability to earn credibility from superintendents, foremen, trades, and project leadership
• Formal safety degree is welcomed but not required
