Client Accounting & Advisory Services Manager

Stevans & Associates, PLLC is a growing mid-sized regional tax, accounting, and business advisory firm. As we continue to expand our outsourced accounting and advisory services, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Client Accounting & Advisory Services Manager to join our team.

This role will provide fractional Accounting Manager and Controller services to a diverse client base, lead accounting projects, deliver proactive financial and operational guidance, and collaborate closely with our tax professionals to help clients achieve their strategic and tax planning goals.

You will work with industry-leading technology including Karbon Practice Management, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Puzzle, SafeSend, and other leading cloud-based accounting solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Accounting Manager or fractional Controller for a portfolio of clients
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes
• Review financial statements and provide meaningful analysis to clients and firm leadership
• Manage accounting projects including accounting system implementations, process improvements, and financial clean-up engagements
• Develop and maintain client budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and key performance indicators
• Provide proactive financial insights and recommendations to help clients improve operations and profitability
• Manage and train Staff Accountants
• Collaborate with the tax department to identify and implement proactive tax planning strategies throughout the year
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
• Assist clients with accounting software selection, implementation, training, and optimization
• Participate in client meetings and serve as a trusted business advisor
• Work with a variety of accounting and business applications, including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Bill.com, Ramp, Microsoft 365, and other cloud-based solutions
• Identify opportunities to expand services and improve the client experience

Successful Candidates Will

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Have at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within public accounting, outsourced accounting, or advisory services
• Hold an active CPA and/or CMA designation (or be willing to achieve within first two years of employment)
• Have experience managing multiple clients, projects, and deadlines simultaneously
• Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Be comfortable presenting financial information and recommendations to business owners and leadership teams
• Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Be highly organized with strong project management and time management skills
• Embrace technology and show a willingness to learn and implement new software solutions
• Be passionate about developing long-term client relationships and delivering exceptional client service
