About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Chandler, Arizona. The successful candidate will provide cost management and commercial support on high-tech manufacturing projects, with a focus on semiconductors.

This role requires strong technical understanding and the ability to interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and process drawings to ensure accurate cost planning, budgeting, and change management.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain the commercial controls framework, including payment, change, RFI, submittal, correspondence, allowance and contingency logs.
• Lead invoice and payment application reviews against contract terms, schedule of values, progress, approved changes and supporting backup.
• Validate quantities and percent complete using site observations, field input, records and measurable work in place.
• Review change order submissions for entitlement, scope basis, pricing, mark-ups, credits, schedule cost and quality of backup.
• Lead GMP and buy-out reviews, including trade awards, assumptions, allowances, contingencies, commitments, gaps, overlaps and remaining exposure.
• Coordinate day-to-day priorities with client project controls team and the Owner Cost Manager, escalating commercial risks early.
• Produce clear monthly commercial reporting, payment recommendations, change order logs and GMP / buy-out review outputs.
• Attend weekly or biweekly commercial / cost reviews, monthly project controls reviews and change / GMP meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean audit trail so all recommendations are traceable to contract documents, backup, project records and agreed decisions.
• Support final account, disputed item resolution, closeout reporting and lessons learned across all project phases.

Qualifications

• 10 years strong quantity surveying / commercial management background on large-scale construction projects; semiconductor or advanced manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experienced in lump sum and GMP contract structures, invoice validation, change management, procurement / buy-out review and commercial reporting.
• Confident working with contractors, field teams, project controls and senior stakeholders; able to be firm, fair and evidence-led.
• High attention to detail, strong document control discipline and ability to explain complex commercial issues in simple language.
