Senior Interface Engineer - site

Location: Abu Dhabi

Job Purpose

The Senior Interface Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating all engineering, construction, procurement, commissioning, and client interfaces to ensure seamless execution of the Gas Project.

The role ensures that all interface issues between multiple disciplines, contractors, vendors, licensors, and ADNOC stakeholders are identified, tracked, resolved, and documented in compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all internal and external project interfaces throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Act as the primary focal point between Client, PMC, EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders for interface management.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor the Interface Register, ensuring timely closure of interface actions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process, Telecom, and HSE disciplines.
• Organize and lead interface meetings with client, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical and execution issues.
• Review engineering deliverables to identify potential interface conflicts and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate construction activities to eliminate clashes between different contractors and work packages.
• Monitor interface-related risks and implement mitigation measures to avoid schedule delays and cost impacts.
• Ensure interface activities comply with ADNOC standards, project procedures, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Support project planning by identifying interface milestones and integrating them into the overall project schedule.
• Coordinate vendor package interfaces and ensure timely integration with engineering and construction activities.
• Facilitate communication between site teams and engineering offices to resolve technical queries and design changes.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability Reviews, SIMOPS, Model Reviews, and Design Reviews where interface management is required.
• Support Management of Change (MOC) processes related to interface modifications.
• Coordinate commissioning and handover interfaces to ensure smooth system completion and project close-out.
• Prepare interface reports, dashboards, KPIs, and progress updates for project management and ADNOC.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE policies and promote safe work practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Instrumentation, Process, or equivalent).
• Professional certifications in Project Management or Interface Management are an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, or major industrial projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a Senior Interface Engineer role on large-scale EPC projects.
• Proven experience on ADNOC Onshore or Gas projects is highly preferred.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and managing complex brownfield and greenfield interfaces.
• Familiarity with FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up phases.
