Data Discovery & Governance Analyst

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Discovery & Governance Analyst to manage the day-to-day execution of our data classification, tagging, and monitoring workflows. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering and working in close alignment with our Governance Lead, you will be the primary custodian of our data discovery tools.

Your role is highly collaborative—combining deep tool configuration with providing direct technical guidance and troubleshooting support to engineering teams working with sensitive data.

Key Responsibilities

• Tool Management: Configure, maintain, and optimize data discovery and automated classification tools to ensure accurate data scanning and labeling across cloud environments and databases.
• Metadata & Catalog Management: Maintain the enterprise data catalog, business glossary, and metadata tags to ensure clear visibility into data lineage and sensitivity.
• Engineering Enablement: Act as the first point of contact for developers and engineers; host internal knowledge-sharing sessions and provide guidance on how to properly handle and tag data within their applications.
• Audit & Reporting: Run regular data discovery scans, identify anomalies or unclassified data silos, and generate compliance reports for engineering leadership.
• Incident Support: Assist in investigating data misclassifications or policy violations, providing technical fixes and data-remediation support.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of experience working directly within a data governance, data analysis, or technical compliance role.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience operating automated data classification or discovery software. Strong understanding of database structures (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud infrastructure.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills with a knack for spotting patterns in large data environments. Ability to confidently walk engineering peers through tool workflows and data handling best practices.
• Location: Full-time, on-site in the UAE.

Pay: AED0.10 per month
