Position Summary

The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading the company's strategic sourcing and procurement function for building materials, furniture components, finishes, hardware, and project-related materials across the Middle East and international markets. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, supplier performance, quality assurance, and timely material availability to support retail and project operations.

The position requires a strategic procurement leader with expertise in global sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, inventory optimization, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead sourcing initiatives for local and international suppliers.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Develop long-term supplier partnerships and procurement frameworks.

2. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management

• Source building materials, furniture components, hardware, finishes, flooring, kitchen accessories, wardrobes, landscaping materials, and related products.
• Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms, and contracts.
• Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and commercial standards.
• Identify and qualify new regional and international suppliers.

3. Project Procurement

• Manage procurement activities for large-scale residential, commercial, hospitality, and government projects.
• Coordinate closely with Projects, Design, Estimation, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure timely procurement.
• Monitor project procurement schedules to avoid delays and cost overruns.

4. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

• Optimize inventory levels while minimizing stock aging and excess inventory.
• Collaborate with Warehousing and Logistics to improve material availability and delivery performance.
• Monitor procurement risks, supply disruptions, and market price movements.

5. Commercial & Financial Management

• Manage procurement budgets and deliver annual cost reduction initiatives.
• Monitor procurement spend, supplier performance, inventory value, and procurement KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and governance standards.

6. Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Lead and develop the procurement team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Implement procurement best practices, digital procurement tools, ERP optimization, and process improvements.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Performance will be measured across

• Financial: Procurement Cost Savings, Budget Adherence, Purchase Price Variance
• Operations: On-time Material Availability, Procurement Lead Time, Inventory Turnover, Stock Aging
• Supplier: Supplier Performance, Vendor Compliance, Contract Compliance
• Projects: Material Availability for Projects, Procurement Schedule Adherence
• People: Team Productivity, Employee Development, Process Improvement Initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional procurement certifications (CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) are preferred.

Experience

• 12–18+ years of procurement and supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a senior procurement leadership role.
• Strong experience procuring building materials, interior fit-out products, furniture components, hardware, and project materials.
• Proven expertise in procurement across the Middle East and international sourcing markets.
• Strong commercial negotiation, supplier management, contract management, and ERP system experience.
