Data Reporting Assistant

Tech Pipeline is looking for a Data Reporting Assistant to help clear the friction out of reporting pipelines for a major Jeddah-based infrastructure developer. We focus on fixing the specific points where data goes bad or approval chains stall so that our clients can run their own systems reliably.

About the role

Our client, a major Jeddah-based infrastructure developer, manages a massive amount of project data flowing through multiple tools. As their operations scale, their reporting processes are beginning to drift. You will join our remote team to help trace the gaps where numbers are inconsistent across different dashboards.

This is an entry level position designed for someone who enjoys the mechanics of how data moves from a source of truth into a final report. You will learn to identify why a specific routing rule failed or why a reconciliation did not happen as planned. Since this role is fully remote, we rely on precise communication and a commitment to looking at the actual logs to solve problems.

What you will be doing

• Reviewing daily logs to ensure automated reports ran successfully and identifying any interruptions.
• Comparing data exports from different systems to find where the numbers stop matching.
• Updating existing routing rules in the reporting engine based on new project requirements.
• Documenting the step-by-step logic of how a specific report is built so it remains accessible to the client.
• Assisting with the cleanup of backlogs where data entry errors have skewed the project totals.
• Testing new report views to verify that they accurately reflect the source of truth in the database.
• Monitoring system alerts and describing recurring errors for the technical lead.
• Joining remote troubleshooting sessions to observe exactly where operators are experiencing friction in their daily tasks.

What we need from you

• A solid grasp of Excel or Google Sheets, including the use of pivot tables and lookup functions.
• Basic familiarity with SQL or a strong interest in learning it to pull data from databases.
• The ability to write clear, concise instructions that another person can follow without extra guidance.
• Extreme attention to detail: you notice when a number is off by a small margin.
• A practical approach to problem-solving that focuses on making the system work for the people using it.
• Comfort working in a fully remote environment while staying connected through documentation and chat.
• The curiosity to keep searching for the root cause of an error until you find the specific data entry that caused it.

Helpful background

• Exposure to project management tools or ERP systems through previous internships or university projects.
