Data Scientist - Global Consulting Firm - Hong Kong

Our client, a global consulting firm, are actively seeking a Data Scientist to support client engagements in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will possess a strong data scientist/analyst background coupled with consulting experience.

The role

• Deriving actionable insights, designing measurement frameworks, setting up experimentation approaches, and defining KPI structures.
• Machine learning, statistics & generative AI: From solution/model design through deployment and operationalization
• Data engineering & DevOps: Building data preparation and processing pipelines, ensuring reproducibility, and driving industrial-grade delivery
• Data visualization & stakeholder-ready storytelling: Creating dashboards, analytics applications, and communicating results clearly
• Data transformation & enablement: Improving data literacy and adoption (acculturation), defining operating models, and establishing effective ways of working
• Partner with client leadership teams, engineers, program managers, and data analysts to understand business goals and data requirements.
• Identify, source, and evaluate relevant data sets, then ingest, clean, process, and explore them
• Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data to uncover meaningful trends, patterns, and opportunities
• Apply strong analytics and data science capabilities to generate value—building predictive models and machine-learning solutions.
• Present findings and impact at scale using multiple formats, such as presentations, dashboards, datasets, analytics tools, automated assistants/bots, and other channels.
• Develop and propose data-driven strategies and solutions to address business challenges.
• Lead and manage a wide range of deliverables, including models, algorithms, datasets, measurement frameworks, services, tools, and processes.
• Contribute actively to offer building, training, communities of practice, and R&D initiatives.
• Support business development activities, including requirements definition, proposal support, and opportunity identification.

What you offer

• 4+ years experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst (consulting experience preferred/ideal)
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with solid foundations in data modeling
• Hands-on experience end-to-end: ingesting and processing data, building models, and delivering production-ready outputs (e.g., shipping code, deploying models, publishing dashboards, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving ability and clear business acumen
• Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different seniority levels
• Fluency in English and Cantonese is a must.
