AP & AR Accountant - 6 months renewable contract

Our client is a long‑standing private organization in Hong Kong, and continuing to expand across finance and business services. They are now seeking an AP & AR Accountant to join the Finance team. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities including supplier reconciliations, invoice processing, membership receipts, event income analysis, and audit support.

This position provides exposure to multiple finance systems and cross‑functional collaboration, making it an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented professional eager to advance their career in a fast‑paced environment. Immediate availability is highly preferred.

Responsibilites

Accounts Payable

• Perform supplier statement reconciliations across multiple entities
• Investigate and resolve supplier queries and unallocated cash items
• Manage debit balances and request refunds where appropriate
• Support process and system improvements for AP efficiency
• Assist with invoice processing and inter‑company journals
• Conduct ERP testing and ensure best practices are followed
• Collaborate with managers and procurement teams to ensure accurate invoice processing
• Handle utility invoice processing

Accounts Receivable

• Verify sales postings in the finance system and resolve discrepancies
• Post and reconcile membership receipts
• Perform weekly reconciliations across finance systems, banks, and POS platforms
• Investigate and resolve payment variances
• Issue sales invoices and reconcile incoming payments
• Manage deposits and receipts for events and private hire
• Reconcile e‑commerce revenue streams
• Post bank transactions and perform weekly reconciliations
• Process intercompany charges and gift card reconciliations
• Conduct FX revaluations and event income analysis
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and audit reports
• Support audit queries and finance transformation projects
• Process refunds and ad hoc payments as required
• Contribute to team objectives and assist with other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of AP & AR processes
• Hands‑on experience with ERP and finance systems (e.g., SAGE, Opera, POS platforms)
• Detail‑oriented with excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
• Proactive problem‑solver with strong communication skills
• Immediate availability is highly preferred
