High School Mathematics Teacher

Dalton School Hong Kong (DSHK) is seeking exceptional candidates to join our founding High School team for the 2026–2027 academic year as we redefine education through a transdisciplinary, integrated, and personalized approach.

We are looking for passionate educators dedicated to moving beyond traditional, siloed subject teaching toward a student-led, inquiry-based model that fosters critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.

Note: Highly experienced candidates will also be considered for more senior position.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Excellence: Deliver engaging, inquiry-based mathematics instruction, integrating the Dalton Plan’s emphasis on student agency with rigorous, internationally recognized academic standards.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) Leadership: Design and facilitate authentic, transdisciplinary PBL experiences that connect mathematical concepts to real-world applications, encouraging collaboration and creativity.

Personalized Learning Advocacy: Leverage AI and educational technology to tailor learning experiences to individual student needs while maintaining the human connection central to DSHK’s philosophy.

Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop a dual-language, student-centered mathematics curriculum that promotes conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.

Student Mentorship: Guide students in setting academic and personal goals, fostering independence and resilience, and preparing them for success in university admissions and standardized assessments (such as AP Exams and SATs).

Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, fostering an inclusive, bilingual, and culturally rich learning environment.

Reflective Practice: Model adaptability by regularly reflecting on teaching practices, incorporating feedback, and collaborating with peers to refine instructional strategies.

Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in professional development, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and innovation in progressive education.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in high school mathematics, preferably within a progressive, inquiry-based, or dual-language setting.

Teaching Skills: Expertise in delivering differentiated, student-centered instruction focused on inquiry-based and project-based learning.

Progressive Education Expertise: Familiarity with the Dalton Plan, personalized learning, and PBL, with a strong commitment to fostering student agency and independence.

Technology Integration: Enthusiasm for using AI and educational technology to enhance learning while prioritizing student well-being and personal connection.

Cultural Competence: Experience working in multicultural or bilingual environments, with a passion for promoting biliteracy and sociocultural awareness.

Collaboration Skills: Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to building a collaborative and inclusive school culture.
