Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Manager to lead the design, coordination and delivery of data centre projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the electrical design lifecycle, coordinating with clients and project stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical, quality and safety standards.

The role requires expertise in mission-critical environments, strong stakeholder management skills and experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects within data centre or similar critical facilities sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical design process for data centre developments and upgrades.
• Develop and review electrical systems including power distribution, backup power, lighting, earthing and life-safety systems.
• Act as the primary technical interface with clients, ensuring requirements are understood and effectively incorporated into project delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, consultants and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Manage external design consultants and review technical submissions.
• Support procurement activities and provide technical guidance during equipment selection and installation.
• Oversee contractor performance to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements and programme milestones.
• Monitor construction activities and provide technical support during project execution.
• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Prepare technical reports, project updates and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and company procedures.
• Keep abreast of developments in data centre design, engineering and operational best practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (HKIE, IET, CIBSE or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design and project delivery within data centres, critical facilities or similar infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical electrical systems including LV distribution, UPS and standby power solutions.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors and client stakeholders.
• Knowledge of design coordination, construction support and commissioning processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or similar design platforms.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively.
