About the Opportunity

A leading provider of financial market data, analytics, and investment solutions is seeking a commercially driven professional to help expand the adoption of its index platform across institutional investor segments.

The firm develops a broad range of benchmark and investable index solutions spanning equities, fixed income, commodities, currencies, and multi-asset strategies, supporting asset allocation, portfolio construction, performance measurement, and product innovation.

This role sits at the intersection of sales, client engagement, and product strategy, partnering with some of the largest asset owners globally to deliver customized index solutions and market insights.

The Position

The successful candidate will lead business development efforts within the institutional asset owner market, working with organizations such as:

• Public and corporate pension plans
• Sovereign wealth funds
• Insurance investment portfolios
• Endowments and foundations
• Family offices
• Investment consultants

The role combines strategic account management, consultative sales, and market development. You will be responsible for building senior-level relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and helping clients leverage index-based solutions aligned with their investment objectives.

In addition to direct client engagement, you will collaborate closely with product, research, engineering, and marketing teams to influence future offerings and ensure solutions reflect evolving market demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and expand relationships with senior investment professionals and decision-makers across the asset owner landscape
• Drive revenue growth and market penetration for a suite of benchmark, investable, and custom index solutions
• Act as a trusted advisor on index construction, methodology, governance, and implementation considerations
• Identify opportunities for new client acquisition while deepening engagement with existing relationships
• Lead presentations, educational workshops, and thought leadership discussions for clients and prospects
• Manage the full commercial lifecycle, including opportunity development, negotiations, and contract execution
• Gather market intelligence and client feedback to help shape product enhancements and future development initiatives
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated client solutions and cross-sell complementary offerings
• Maintain an active presence within the institutional investment community through meetings, conferences, and industry events
• Travel regularly to support client engagement and business development efforts

Desired Background

• 8+ years experience within index investing, investment data, benchmarks, ETFs, or related capital markets products
• Demonstrated success in a client-facing commercial, relationship management, or business development role
• Strong understanding of institutional investors and their investment decision-making processes
• Proven ability to originate opportunities, grow strategic accounts, and achieve revenue objectives
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from analysts to CIOs
• Commercially minded with a consultative approach to solving client challenges
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
• Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business functions
• Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously
