Senior Designer - Workplace/Commercial Interiors

Ted Moudis Associates (TMA) is a full-service architecture and interior design firm specializing in innovative workplace environments for media, technology, financial, and professional services clients. We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience in commercial workplace interiors to join our Chicago team.

This role is focused on interior architecture and workplace design. Candidates without commercial interior design or architecture experience will not be considered. This is not a graphic, digital, or product design role.

Senior Designer – Workplace/Commercial interiors

Key Responsibilities

• As a seasoned design professional with large, complex or institutional experience you will be expected to seek the highest standards of design and technical excellence and provide strategic project execution.
• Lead commercial workplace interior design projects from programming through construction administration.
• Develop space planning, test fits, and design concepts for office environments.
• Guide design direction and evaluate solutions based on client and project goals.
• Select and specify materials, finishes, furniture, and systems for commercial interiors.
• Produce and oversee construction documentation sets (plans, elevations, details).
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and project teams on technical coordination.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in commercial interior design or interior architecture (workplace preferred).
• Proven experience in producing construction documents and detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required).
• Experience with Revit-based 3D modeling and rendering workflows (e.g. Enscape or similar)
• Experience working on built commercial projects (not just conceptual work)
• Hand sketching and conceptual visualization skills.
• Adobe Photoshop and InDesign knowledge.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing comprehensive workplace strategies for corporate clients.
• Familiarity with hybrid workplace planning, utilization trends, and activity-based working environments.
• Interest in researching emerging industry trends and best practices to inform workplace strategies and design solutions.
• LEED AP / WELL AP accreditation
