Assistant Estimator / Assistant Project Manager

Role Description The Assistant Estimator / Assistant Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lynnfield, MA. This position supports the estimating team by reviewing plans and specifications, soliciting and organizing subcontractor bids, preparing quantity takeoffs, and assisting in the development of detailed cost estimates.

The role also supports project management activities, including tracking schedules, updating budgets, preparing meeting minutes, and coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients throughout the project lifecycle. The Assistant Estimator / Assistant Project Manager helps maintain project documentation, ensures compliance with company procedures, and assists with change orders, RFIs, and punch lists.

This role collaborates closely with senior estimators and project managers to help deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of construction estimating and project management, including reading drawings, understanding specifications, and performing basic quantity takeoffs.
• Proficiency with common office and construction software (e.g., Microsoft Office, project management tools, estimating software) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Procore efficiency
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset to support cost analysis, budgeting, and change management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
• Preferred: Experience or internship in commercial construction (hospitality, retail, or corporate interiors) and familiarity with bidding processes.
• Preferred education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
