Chief People Officer / Head of Human Resources

Role Description The Chief People Officer / Head of Human Resources is a full-time, on-site role based in Golden, CO. This role oversees the end-to-end people strategy, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and leadership development, ensuring alignment with JarrarLabs’ mission and growth plans.

Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and updating HR policies, leading succession planning initiatives, addressing employee relations matters, and driving employee engagement programs to support a high-performing, inclusive culture. The role partners closely with executive leadership to build scalable HR processes, manage compliance and risk, and provide coaching to managers on people-related decisions.

This position also involves analyzing HR data, setting key people metrics, and implementing programs that support retention, career growth, and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Experience in performance management and employee engagement, with the ability to design and implement programs that support growth and retention.
• Strong background in succession planning and HR policies, including developing frameworks that support leadership pipelines and compliant, consistent practices.
• Expertise in employee relations, including resolving complex issues, managing conflict, and fostering a respectful, collaborative workplace.
• Proven experience in strategic HR leadership within a technology, engineering, or research-focused organization.
• Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance in the United States.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead HR teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive organizational change.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with a focus on inclusion and equity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus.
