Job Summary

The Petroleum Service Repair Technician (Mechanical) is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment used in petroleum fueling systems. This role ensures fuel dispensing equipment, piping systems, pumps, tanks, and related mechanical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain petroleum fueling equipment and mechanical systems.
• Install and service fuel dispensers, pumps, piping, valves, filters, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on petroleum fueling systems.
• Inspect equipment for leaks, wear, and mechanical failures while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Replace defective components and perform system testing to verify proper operation.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and diagnostic instruments safely.
• Follow OSHA, environmental, and company safety procedures at all times.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and completed work.
• Participate in emergency service calls and after-hours support as required.
• Maintain a clean service vehicle, inventory, and tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with fuel dispensing systems, pumps, compressors, or industrial mechanical equipment is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required.

Required Skills

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to read mechanical schematics and technical manuals.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Climb ladders, kneel, bend, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime.
