Job Description

• Zilla's media offerings.
• Common Tread has since grown at a rapid pace and now serves hundreds of thousands of readers on a weekly basis.
• Our readership is among the most engaged and informed motorcyclist communities online.

RevZilla is seeking a Content Writer to produce news, educational, opinion, and feature content for Common Tread. The job requires not only broad knowledge about motorcycling, but also a level of curiosity that drives you to keep adding to that knowledge.

You will be responsible for keeping your thumb on the pulse of everything happening in the motorcycle world, from new model releases to industry trends to lifestyle feature stories. You'll need to be a bit of a technical editor, too, so you can explain new developments and complex topics to our readership.

You'll also need to develop relationships in the industry so you can spot and anticipate newsworthy developments, not just react to what others have already reported. Proven abilities to work on tight deadlines, familiarity with online content dissemination, comfort working with content management systems, and knowledge of SEO issues are also major advantages.

We know it's a lot to ask. But in the shrinking landscape of U.S. motorcycle media, this is a rare entry-level opportunity for the right person to work with one of the most respected and professional teams of content producers in the business today.

Our Next Content Writer Will

• Cover the daily beat of the motorcycle industry; identify and produce news while it's still timely
• Research and develop article concepts in collaboration with fellow staff and the Managing Editor
• Manage articles and photos in the CMS
• Collaborate with Marketing, Social, and Video teams in order to develop multi-pronged content campaigns
• Use editorial sensibility and data in tandem to iterate and refine content in real time
• Stay abreast of the cutting edge in the motorcycle industry

Qualifications

Our Next Content Writer Has

• 2+ years of related work experience in journalism and/or digital content industry
• Expert written and verbal communication
• Lover of all things moto: A licensed rider, enthusiast, and voracious consumer of moto content
• Experience creating editorial content across digital platforms
• Experience in a creative collaborative environment
• Working knowledge of SEO/SEM
• Understanding how content is shared across the spectrum of digital media
• Near-limitless energy (boundless enthusiasm helps, too)
