Information Technology System Administrator

Our client, a reputable services organization of approximately 60 staff based in Toronto, is seeking an experienced IT System Administrator on a temporary basis to provide interim coverage during a staff leave. This is a short-term assignment focused on maintaining stable, reliable IT operations and keeping day-to-day support running smoothly during the coverage period.

What you'll do

• Provide reliable IT support and troubleshooting for staff — desktops, laptops, printers, wireless devices and Microsoft 365.
• Manage the IT ticket queue and resolve issues promptly.
• Administer user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Maintain the stability of core infrastructure: servers, network (VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall) and the virtualized environment and keep backups and updates current.

What you bring

• Proven end-user / desktop support experience in a corporate environment (Windows, Microsoft 365).
• Experience administering user accounts and access in Microsoft 365 / Entra (Azure AD).
• Solid network troubleshooting (VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall) and familiarity with VMware ESXi / vCenter.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability handling confidential and sensitive information.

Position Details

• Rate: C$30–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Term: Temporary / approximately six weeks
• Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
• Location: Hybrid: minimum three days per week on-site, the remainder remote
• Start date: Immediate
