The City of Toronto’s Accounting Services Division is responsible for delivering on the City’s financial reporting obligations including the effective administration and oversight of all excise tax reporting and compliance requirements.
Reporting to the Manager, Accounting Services, the Senior Financial Analyst will be a key contributor to the City’s excise tax compliance framework, providing expert analysis, strategic insight, and leadership to support complex tax reporting and decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to influence corporate financial strategies, drive process improvements, and enhance compliance practices across one of Canada’s largest municipalities.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement, financial stewardship, and HST compliance excellence. They will apply critical thinking to interpret complex indirect tax requirements and communicate and collaborate with corporate partners to ensure that these requirements are operationalized completely and accurately across the organization.
In this role you will take ownership of assigned deliverables, provide proactive support to corporate partners, and deliver accurate, timely, and audit-ready results in a complex, deadline driven environment.
