Automation Engineer – ABB 800xA Specialist (UK Power-to-Hydrogen Project)

📍 Location: UK (near Manchester) | 🕐 Duration: 6–18 months | 🌍 Open to international candidates

Join a pioneering Power-to-Hydrogen project spanning and play a key role in shaping the future of green energy. We are looking for 1–2 experienced automation engineers to support the commissioning and testing of an advanced facility in the UK using ABB 800xA systems.

🔍 About the Project

You'll work closely with a cross-functional team. The UK facility features cutting-edge technologies including fluidized bed combustion, dual combustion chambers, and advanced process control.

🛠 Your Role

• Support final commissioning and Availability Test at the UK site
• Program, fine-tune, and optimize ABB 800xA control systems
• Troubleshoot issues and improve alarm handling and root cause logic
• Work hands-on with control networks and HART communication
• Ensure compliance with functional safety standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511)

✅ We’re looking for someone who

• Has hands-on experience with ABB 800xA (Allen Bradley and Siemens exposure is a plus)
• Understands safety PLCs and ideally has SIF certification or practical experience
• Speaks clear and fluent English
• Can work independently, but also coordinate closely with the on-site colleague
• Has an electrical background and/or an engineering degree
• Is willing to stay in the UK for the project duration (rotation possible for two strong candidates)
