Fit Out Project Operations Manager

Role Purpose

The operations manager will lead and manage a team of project managers, supervisors, operatives, and sub-contractors to deliver multiple concurrent projects for the Banking Hub account, ensuring quality and timely services in a professional manner.

The role involves ensuring all projects are commercially managed to protect and enhance profitability, primarily focusing on fit-out works in a retail environment, with potential involvement in other services within wider project delivery.

As the operational lead, the manager will handle team management, client stakeholders, and supply chain coordination, supporting project delivery teams and upholding company processes and ethos. Accountabilities Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, ICDL, and governance standards. Manage a team of project managers, supervisors, operatives, and sub-contractors in delivering projects.

Conduct regular project reviews to ensure adherence to program, budget, quality, and safety standards. Maintain high service levels and build relationships with key clients to promote repeat business and strategic partnerships. Identify and develop new opportunities with existing and potential clients, focusing on end-user clients. Ensure compliance with all group policies and procedures.

Achieve financial targets, supported by the Commercial team, and report on financial status. Lead site-based project teams to ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and engineering standards. Ensure work complies with British Standards and codes of practice. Support the Business Estimating function as needed. Provide technical support for contracts.

Support staff training and development, including staff appraisals and training programs. Collaborate closely with Commercial, Engineering, Estimating, and Support teams. Assist in contract negotiations prior to award, covering commercial and engineering aspects. Provide engineering support to meet workload demands and new projects.

Oversee team performance and develop customer relationships to ensure excellent service. Follow health & safety regulations and contribute to the safety culture. Share innovations and lessons learned across the business. Qualities & Experience Proficient in IT skills, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong educational background, such as a degree or equivalent experience.

Leadership experience with solid mechanical and electrical technical knowledge. Proven track record of project delivery. Experience managing multiple projects with diverse scopes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, organized, and deadline-driven. Commercial aptitude and negotiation skills.
