Dental Assistant - bilingual English and Spanish

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Dental Assistant fluent in English and Spanish to join our dynamic dental team. Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-ray images accurately while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety guidelines.
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, verifying insurance information, and scheduling appointments using patient management software.
• Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; document medical and dental histories in electronic health records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
• Ensure clinical confidentiality policies are strictly followed when handling medical documentation and patient records.
• Support dental procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques, chairside assisting, and proper instrument processing.
• Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools in optimal condition.
• Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in both English and Spanish.
• Follow healthcare infection prevention and control policies to ensure aseptic techniques are maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in dental assisting procedures across general dentistry and specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
• Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and patient management.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure the privacy and security of patient information.
• Competency in taking dental X-rays, operating dental equipment, and understanding dental terminology.
• Experience with medical coding related to dental procedures is preferred.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices including sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with proficiency in medical terminology.
