LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER

We're looking for a mechatronics or mechanical engineer with a dynamic mechanical engineering-based skill set who is excited to join Veebot at an early stage and take on a lot of responsibility. The position focuses on designing and building prototypes for automated needle insertion systems.

We're looking for candidates who share a passion for exploring and solving complex problems at the intersection of medical imaging, computer vision, and robotics. Position based out of Miami, Florida.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Veebot mechanical engineering efforts
Create CAD drawings of new prototypes
Build prototypes for automated needle insertion system
Oversee outsourced mechanical and industrial design work
Create mechatronic systems to automate system setup and cleanup
Collaborate with team members to integrate subsystems
Report to CEO on progress

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Masters in Mechanical Engineering with focus on design, robotics or mechatronics from top university
Self-starter
CAD expertise required
3+ year’s experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing and use of CNC
Hands on experience building prototype devices and bench testing required
Fundamental mechatronic skills in EE, coding, and mechanical engineering
Experience programming microcontrollers
Intermediate C/C++ coding skills
Knowledge in using electrical lab test equipment, including Oscilloscopes, Digital Signal Analyzers, LCR meters is important
Outsource mechanical and industrial design work as needed
Assist with writing patent applications as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

PhD in Mechanical engineering with a focus on design, robotics, or mechatronics
5+ year’s experience with rapid prototyping, 3D printing and use of CNC
Advanced C/C++ coding skills
Skills in designing and debugging custom PCBs for testing
Industrial design experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel will be required
