Senior HR Manager, Global Onboarding

Our client is located in central Houston and looking to add a Senior HR Manager, Global Onboarding to their team on a direct hire basis. This role will specialize in global onboarding, knowledge management, policy governance and shared services. The Senior HR Manager, Global Onboarding will lead enterprise-wide onboarding strategies, ensuring seamless integration for new hires and global transfers across all levels.

This role owns the global onboarding framework and standards, works across global regions and functions to enable execution, and ensures onboarding supports Day‑1 readiness, early productivity, and long‑term retention.

The role sets clear expectations and governs how onboarding is delivered globally, while execution is carried out by shared services, HR business partners, and people managers in line with defined standards and controls.

Must be local to Houston or open to relocation at own expense.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the Global Onboarding function, setting the strategy, standards, and governance for onboarding across all countries and legal entities.
• Define, maintain, and enforce the global onboarding framework, covering pre boarding, Day 1 readiness, and early integration.
• Establish mandatory global standards, controls, and success metrics, while ensuring alignment with local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
• Approve and govern regional deviations and exceptions to the global onboarding framework.
• Provide global functional leadership and direction for onboarding activities executed by Shared Services teams, HR Business Partners, and people managers.
• Act as the global escalation authority for onboarding risks, compliance issues, and complex cases.
• Partner with recruiting leadership to ensure seamless, global transitions from hiring to onboarding.
• Enable and hold people managers globally accountable for their onboarding responsibilities through tools, guidance, and training.
• Ensure onboarding processes are audit ready, compliant, and aligned with enterprise risk and control requirements.
• Own global onboarding reporting, insights, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead onboarding related transformations, including operating model changes, system enhancements, and vendor strategy.

Qualifications Required

• Demonstrated experience leading global onboarding, employee lifecycle, and HR governance functions.
• Strong team leadership experience.
• Experience operating within a COE / HRBP / Shared Services global model.
• Experience partnering with Talent Acquisition leadership and Shared Services teams.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise HR systems (e.g., Oracle HCM or comparable platforms).
• Experience building or leading a Global Onboarding function.
• Experience governing onboarding across multiple regions and employment models.
• Experience in large, global, and complex organizations.
