Recruitment Specialist- Talent Intelligence & Sourcing

The Recruitment Specialist, Talent Intelligence & Sourcing, is responsible for proactively identifying, researching, and engaging prospective candidates to develop strong talent pipelines that support current and future hiring needs across UT MD Anderson.

This position supports the Talent Acquisition Team by partnering closely with recruiters and hiring leaders to translate position requirements into targeted sourcing strategies, with particular focus on hard-to-fill, specialized, and leadership-level roles.

The Recruitment Specialist leverages a variety of sourcing tools, technologies, and market research techniques to identify and attract qualified talent, including AI-enabled tools that enhance sourcing efficiency and support candidate identification efforts.

This position requires a resourceful, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple concurrent searches across a large team and contribute to a structured, retained-search-style recruiting process that reflects MD Anderson's mission and standards of excellence.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Develops and executes proactive sourcing strategies for assigned roles, using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and keyword search strings, professional networks, job boards, social media, association directories, and referrals to identify both active and passive candidates. This includes conducting market and talent mapping research by organization, geography, school, and online community to build a strong understanding of the talent landscape for each search.
• Supports the Talent Acquisition team concurrently, managing competing sourcing priorities across multiple simultaneous searches and adjusting daily workload based on each recruiter's search stage, urgency, and pipeline needs.
• Leverages AI-enabled tools to enhance candidate sourcing, outreach, and preliminary screening while validating results through human review and judgment.
• Engages passive and active candidates through multi-channel outreach, including InMail, email, phone, and networking, crafting personalized, brand-aligned messaging that communicates the opportunity, culture, and value proposition while increasing response rates. Conducts initial screening conversations to confirm candidate interest and baseline qualifications prior to recruiter handoff.
• Builds, organizes, and maintains talent pipelines and candidate records within the applicant tracking system and candidate relationship management platform, ensuring recruiters and hiring leaders have a clear, accurate, real-time view of talent pools. This includes nurturing relationships with passive candidates and prior applicants through periodic follow-up so that strong candidates remain engaged for future opportunities.
• Tracks and reports sourcing metrics, including outreach volume, response rates, source effectiveness, and time-to-fill contributions, using data-driven insights to continuously refine sourcing strategies and optimize channel selection. Monitors talent pipeline composition and candidate flow to identify opportunities for broader market reach and stronger candidate engagement. Stays current on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitor talent movement within healthcare and academic medicine, sharing relevant intelligence with recruiters and hiring managers.
• Represents UT MD Anderson professionally throughout the candidate experience, providing timely communication and sharing candidate and market feedback with Talent Acquisition leadership. Represents the organization at industry conferences and networking events to strengthen employer branding, engage talent, and support candidate outreach efforts.

EDUCATION

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

Preferred

Master's Degree Human Resources or related field.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

7 years of professional recruitment, human resources, or project management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.

Preferred

Five years of experience sourcing candidates within healthcare, academic medicine, or life sciences environments, including executive, clinical, and technical searches. Experience utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, professional networks, and ATS/CRM platforms to build and engage talent pipelines.
