Mechanical Engineer - Junior

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring concepts from initial sketches to fully realized prototypes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and project timelines. This position provides a platform for growth in mechanical engineering, offering hands-on experience with advanced CAD tools, system design, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, creating detailed mechanical drawings and 3D models for product prototypes.
• Support project scheduling efforts by tracking milestones, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure timely completion of engineering tasks.
• Conduct tolerance analysis and root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues and improve product reliability.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable components, adhering to ASME codes & standards.
• Participate in mechanical detail drafting, schematic creation, and building information modeling (BIM) tools to visualize and communicate design intent effectively.
• Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulations using tools like MATLAB or Simulink to validate mechanical performance under various conditions.
• Contribute to system design efforts involving machine design, mechanical detail drawings, and mechanical product development projects while practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong foundation in mechanical knowledge and principles.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or similar tools for 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), schematics, and mechanical drawings aligned with industry standards.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, assembly techniques, and quality standards like ASME codes & standards.
• Knowledge of engineering product development processes, project management practices, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Practical experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
• Skills in project scheduling, system design, tolerance analysis, and mechanical detail drafting will be highly valued.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and document technical information clearly.
