Senior Planner

The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Senior Planner in the Planning and Development Services Department.

We pay our Senior Planners a salary of $74,443 - $85,609, depending on experience and qualifications.

As our Planner, you are responsible for guiding the growth and development of our community to ensure it is safe, functional, and sustainable. This role involves reviewing development proposals, managing zoning and land-use regulations, and collaborating with city departments, developers, and the public to support responsible planning and community development. Formal Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field from an accredited school or university. A Masters Degree in Urban Planning or a related field is preferred.

Relatable Work Experience

• Four years of work-related experience in Urban Planning at the local level, either in the public or the private sector. Municipal Experience is preferred.

Training (License and/or Certification)

• Valid Texas Driver License.
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is preferred.
