Elementary School Teacher, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

At Alpha, students accomplish their academic work in only two hours daily through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their time to the work that transforms lives: fostering confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to take on difficult challenges. You won't be delivering lessons from the front of a room.

Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their progress, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic belief.

You'll be responsible for one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and receiving feedback.

The remaining half is dedicated to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward challenging weekly objectives. Every moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and finish your coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously imagined.

This position isn't designed for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or oversee a traditional classroom. It's intended for someone who enjoys motivating young children, values measurable progress, and believes the right coach can alter a child's path. What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that help K-3 students develop communication, focus, feedback, and other enduring skills through active engagement rather than traditional lectures.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation systems, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child stays on course for challenging weekly learning objectives.
• Evaluate life-skill mastery using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, coaching students until they show genuine understanding—not merely participation.
• Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, movement, and storytelling for younger children or greater independence and accountability for older students.
• Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push beyond what they believed they could accomplish.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Standing at a whiteboard delivering academic lessons. Students complete academics through adaptive software.
• Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize proven playbooks rather than designing lessons.
• Observing students work quietly on computers. Your role involves active coaching, motivation, and meaningful connection.
• Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulty. Success means helping students meet the goal, not adjusting the goal downward.
• Overseeing homework, grading papers, or handling standard parent communication.

Elementary School Teacher Key Responsibilities

Build a cohort of K-3 students who are excited to attend school, regularly meet ambitious learning goals, and develop the life skills that equip them to succeed well beyond elementary school.

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work on-site at one of Alpha's campuses. Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject.
• At least 3 years of experience working directly with children ages 4-9 through teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or similar environments.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate young children to reach challenging goals, with concrete examples of your impact.
• Comfort working with AI-powered learning while concentrating your own efforts on coaching, motivation, and life-skill development.
• The capacity to combine warmth with consistently high expectations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Experience in youth sports, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori, progressive education, or high-engagement after-school programs.
• Personal experience reaching ambitious goals in academics, athletics, or your career.
• Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage young children.
• Proof of helping hesitant or reserved children become confident, active participants.

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
