A warm, creative, and welcoming family in San Diego is seeking a Part-Time Family/Household Assistant to help bring additional support, organization, and consistency to their busy household. The family includes two school-aged children, beloved pets, and a multigenerational household dynamic, creating a lively environment with many moving pieces to coordinate.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can balance organization with adaptability—bringing calm, consistency, and proactive support without being overly rigid. This person should be warm, positive, and comfortable building relationships with both children and adults. A genuine appreciation for organized family life and creativity, will go a long way in this role.

Hours/Schedule

15 guaranteed hours per week.

Three 5-hour shifts per week (starting no earlier than 10:00 AM)

Ideal schedule will include Tuesdays and Thursdays (Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, etc.) but willing to be flexible for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Meal Planning & Family Meal Support

• Develop weekly meal plans that can simply accommodate varying dietary preferences within the household
• Prepare children’s lunches and snacks for the school week
• Prepare healthy grab-and-go snacks for adults
• Assist with family dinners through a combination of meal preparation and cooking
• Support efforts to create more structured family mealtime routines

Grocery Shopping & Kitchen Management

• Grocery shopping
• Kitchen inventory management
• Maintaining organized food storage systems

Household Organization

• Resetting and maintaining common living areas
• Supporting household organization projects
• Creating and maintaining practical household systems
• Providing ongoing organizational upkeep throughout the home

Administrative & Household Support

• Calendar oversight and reminders
• Mail sorting and organization
• Creating action-item systems for bills and time-sensitive correspondence
• Running errands
• Providing additional ad hoc household and administrative support as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting families in private homes in a Family Assistant, Personal Assistant, Household Manager, or similar capacity
• Reliable, efficient, and highly organized
• Strong time management and follow-through skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be able to provide professional references

Compensation

$33–$38 per hour, can increase to $40 per hour for candidates with exceptional experience.
