CHECK-IN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets patients coming for their appointment
• Enters data such as demographics, insurance, patient and financial notes, etc.
• Ensures required authorizations are signed and required insurance referrals are on file
• Hands out various questionnaires to be completed by the patient
• Scans documents
• Completes insurance verification
• Tags patients ready for the tech/doctor
• Provides back-up support for check-out and additional phone coverage as needed

CHECK-OUT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets patient and tags their appointment completed
• Collects balance due on the account, copays
• Schedules future appointments, including off site appointments
• Prints summaries
• Dispenses and enter payments for contact lenses and retail products
• Performs data entry of “no charge and post op yesterday” route slips
• Scans documents
• Completes closing processes at the end of the day (reports, money, etc.)
• Provides back-up support for check-in and additional phone coverage as needed

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect surgical payments

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of previous experience as a Front Desk Receptionist or Medical Receptionist preferred!
