I’m seeking a highly organized and capable local assistant to help manage projects involving research, problem-solving, contracting, logistics, communication, and possible occasional errands. Independent initiative, sound judgment, reliability, and strong communication skills are essential.
I’m recovering from mold illness, overseeing major remediation of my home, and working to relocate to another home. This role exists to help manage those interconnected challenges and their logistical details. I envision the role lasting throughout 2026 at least.
The role has two primary areas of focus: health-related support and home-remediation coordination. The health-related focus does not involve direct caregiving, but rather research, phone calls, scheduling, transportation, communication, and other logistical assistance.
The home-remediation aspect similarly focuses on research, coordination, communication, and project management; the main physical work will be performed by professionals. Some work is required at my residences, while other tasks can be done on your own. Because some tasks are on-site, brief, and occasionally time-sensitive, this role seems best suited for those living nearby in east or central Charlotte.
While a background in healthcare, admin, or project coordination would be a plus, it’s not required. An empathetic supportive presence, as well as an aptitude for independent learning, are assets.
The position is part-time (perhaps 15-30 hrs/wk), with flexible hours to be worked out between us based on needs and availability. I'm especially interested in candidates who combine initiative, resourcefulness, and strong problem-solving skills to take ownership of projects. Compensation will be based on qualifications and fit (and may exceed the $32 listed).
If you feel particularly well suited to either the health-related or home-remediation aspects of the role, but not both, I still encourage you to apply. Depending on the applicants, I may consider dividing the responsibilities into two separate positions.
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
