Electrical Installation Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Manager to lead and deliver industrial and manufacturing electrical projects across Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Missouri. The ideal candidate will manage teams of journeyman electricians and technicians to install, test, and commission power and control systems ensuring work meets NEC, NFPA 70E and client requirements.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise (wiring, low-voltage circuits, PLC/DCS/BMS control wiring, process instrumentation) with project leadership, safety stewardship, and client-facing coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and schedule teams of journeyman electricians and installation technicians for industrial and manufacturing projects across Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise electrical installations including power distribution, low-voltage wiring, control wiring, PLC, DCS and BMS systems, and building automation integrations.
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E and company safety policies; enforce lockout/tagout and other safe work practices.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, material takeoffs and procurement coordination to meet milestone dates and budget targets.
- Oversee functional testing, loop checks, and system commissioning activities; document results and resolve punch list items with engineering and clients.
- Collaborate with engineering, project managers and clients to review drawings, clarify scope, execute change orders and ensure design intent is achieved.
- Perform field inspections, quality control checks and troubleshooting of circuits, control panels and process instrumentation.
- Manage client relationships and act as onsite point of contact during installations and commissioning efforts.
- Provide training, performance feedback and certification tracking for team members; maintain accurate site and safety records.
- Drive continuous improvement in installation methods, documentation and commissioning procedures to reduce rework and increase first-time acceptance.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician certification required; Journeyman/Registered Electrician preferred.
- 7+ years of electrical trade experience with a minimum of 3+ years in a supervisory or management role on industrial or manufacturing projects.
- Hands-on experience with wiring, low-voltage systems, power distribution and control circuits.
- Experience installing and commissioning PLC, DCS and BMS/building automation systems and related control wiring.
- Demonstrated experience performing functional testing, loop checks, process instrumentation installation and commissioning.
- Willingness to travel and manage projects.
- Experience in manufacturing/industrial environments and familiarity with control systems engineering and commissioning best practices.
