Journeyman Electrician – Mass Timber & Modular Shop

Zaugg Timber Solutions is a new Portland mass timber company with deep Swiss roots, building modular timber projects in a factory environment where craftsmanship still matters. As the North American affiliate of a third-generation Swiss company, the company combines prefabrication, mass timber, and modern tools to build high-quality buildings in a controlled shop setting.

Zaugg Timber Solutions is looking for an Oregon-licensed Journeyman Electrician to help anchor and grow its new in-house electrical group as part of a broader in-house MEP team under the mass timber umbrella. This is a mostly shop-based role working on timber-based modules in a wood and steel environment, with direct impact on how buildings come together and how quality is maintained under one roof.

What you'll do

• Install electrical systems in mass timber and modular assemblies in a factory/shop setting.
• Handle rough-in, device installation, terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks.
• Work from drawings and shop layouts, coordinating directly with carpenters, plumbers, and mechanical trades on the floor.
• Support occasional site work during installs, tie-ins, closeout, and warranty items.
• Help shape standards for layout, labeling, clean installs, and repeatable electrical assemblies as the in-house MEP team grows.
• Be open to cross-training in mass timber work during gaps between modular production runs so the team can stay flexible and support broader shop needs.

What we're looking for

• Current Oregon General Journeyman Electrician license required.
• Solid field experience and strong all-around electrical judgment.
• Comfortable working in a shop environment with occasional site visits.
• Able to read plans, think ahead, and solve problems on the floor.
• Team-first attitude, dependable work habits, and pride in clean, high-quality work.
• Woodworking experience or comfort working around timber, carpentry, or modular fabrication is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude or experience coordinating with plumbing and mechanical trades is a plus, especially for candidates who want to be part of a fully in-house MEP group.
• Open to receiving training in Switzerland to build a strong baseline understanding of mass timber methods and quality expectations from the parent company.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary range: $100,000-$135,000 per year.
