Project Engineer I/II

What is the Opportunity?

Ovivo USA sedimentation engineering group is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Project Engineer to join our team. The role will be based out of Salt Lake City, UT with a hybrid work schedule, 50% in office and 50% from home.

The role will require occasional travel (1-5 times per year is typical). You will work closely with other designers and engineers to ensure equipment is fabricated accurately and with high quality. customer plans and specifications, internal process improvement activities and more.

You are expected to become a product expert to provide troubleshooting assistance during the manufacturing and installation phases of projects.

As a project engineer you will work closely with the marketing, project management and procurement teams, being a team player and having good communication skills is a must.

What is the role?

• Review all applicable job data, including plans and specifications, to determine project requirements.
• Manage the technical aspects of assigned projects through the engineering process.
• Perform engineering analysis as needed and prepare required calculations, models, layouts, detailed drawings, specifications and instructions, with limited supervision.
• Check calculations, models, layouts, detailed drawings, specifications and instructions prepared by drafters/designers and other engineers.
• Communicate directly with the customer together with the project manager to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support to shop and field start-up services.
• Document and update design procedures on a regular basis.
• Advise project engineers, project managers and/ or other managers on project status.
• Generate a variety of drawings and performing required calculations while effectively managing engineering hours and meeting schedules.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.

Does this sound like you?

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
• 2+ years' experience in mechanical design in an industrial or manufacturing environment (including internships or co-ops).
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical equations to complex situations.
• Proficiency in a 3D modeling software application. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Vault is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of drafting standards for both mechanical and structural design, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing GD&T.
• Experience using and generating parametric models.
• Knowledge of AGMA gearing and rotating machine design is helpful.
• Ability to read and understand fabrication, erection, and standard engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30LBS
