About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pulmonology service line in Central Florida.

This is a part-time, Monday–Friday position providing pulmonary care to patients in inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) and skilled nursing/long-term care (SNF/NF) settings.

The position is designed for a clinically independent, efficient provider who enjoys facility-based medicine and wants a predictable weekday rounding schedule with productivity-based compensation and physician specialist support.

Schedule & Locations

• Monday–Friday daytime rounding. No routine weekend rounding requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform pulmonary follow-up visits and appropriate new consultations
• Evaluate and manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions
• Manage COPD, asthma, chronic respiratory failure and oxygen-dependent patients
• Evaluate pneumonia and other respiratory infections
• Manage inhaler and nebulizer regimens
• Evaluate CPAP/BiPAP and sleep-related respiratory issues within scope
• Review relevant laboratory, imaging and respiratory data
• Coordinate care with nursing, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation teams and attending physicians
• Identify changes in clinical status requiring pulmonologist involvement
• Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Maintain communication with the supervising pulmonologist and SHS clinical operations team

Compensation

• Compensation is productivity based - work RVU (wRVU).
• Company provides operational infrastructure including scheduling, census management, billing, credentialing support and specialty physician oversight.

Qualifications

• Current Florida APRN/NP or Physician Assistant license
• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Current DEA registration as applicable to role
• Medicare enrollment/eligibility
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to obtain privileges/credentialing at assigned facilities
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently in post-acute and rehabilitation settings

Prior pulmonary experience is strongly preferred but may not be required for an experienced internal medicine, hospitalist, critical-care or post-acute NP/PA with strong pulmonary clinical skills.

The Pulmonology service line provides an opportunity to work directly with a pulmonologist while developing meaningful specialty experience and participating in the growth of an established multisite practice.
